As teens start going out by themselves, they really need to understand this process. Minimum wage for NON-servers in Florida is $7.79 per hour; for a SERVER, it is only $4.77. That means a waiter/waitress on their feet carrying food and drinks and cleaning up messes for TEN hours only makes $47 before tips. There are certain things waiters/waitresses control like their attitude, friendliness, attentiveness, atmospher and then there are things they do NOT control, like prices, added fees for extras, temperature, the cook, and more. Dont take out on your wait staff what you should report to the management or the owner.
