Teachable Moment: Meteor Shower Friday Night Looking for something to light up your Friday night? A meteor shower may be lighting up your night sky with up to 1,000 “shooting stars” per hour on May 23rd and May 24th. The source? Comet 209P/LINEAR, a Jupiter family comet that orbits the sun every 5.1 years. Tell your students to keep an eye out for the meteor shower.
