Teacher posing as Cop held by M. Kumar The Star 10/10/13 SHAH ALAM: A primary school teacher learnt a hard lesson that crime does not pay when he was caught impersonating as a policeman. The teacher carried a fake pistol, two knives, a fake police ID card, a walkie-talkie and wore a dog-tag with the inscription “ASP Izani” to complete his fake identity. The 36-year-old teacher from a school in Putrajaya was extorting money from two Bangladeshi workers at a budget hotel in Dengkil around 10.30pm on Friday when policemen, on crime prevention rounds, showed up. The policemen had gone to the budget hotel on a routine screening operation for Ops Cantas Khas, said Selangor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan yesterday. “When the foreign workers said that another policeman had arrived before them, they got suspicious and checked him out,” he told reporters at the state police headquarters. The teacher will be remanded until Oct 11. SDCP Mohd Shukri said that 115,590 people have been screened during the course of Ops Cantas Khas with 4,344 raids conducted. “Out of that we have arrested 2,259 people for various offences. Some 160 of them were members of gangs,” he said. thestar.my/News/Nation/2013/10/10/Teacher-posing-as-cop-held-Impersonator-busted-while-extorting-money-from-foreign-workers.aspx
