Teachers Preparing for Year 7 Students in High School The first in a series of workshops supporting the implementation of a secondary school Year 7 Curriculum was held at Derby District High School last weekend, with teachers from several Kimberley schools attending. Facilitated by Broome Senior High School Mathematics teacher, Pamela McGillivray, the sessions covered some of the ‘big ideas’ in Algebra, Statistics and Measurement that students need to come to understand in Mathematics in Year 7. Future workshops will be conducted in English, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS, formerly S&E), all led by Broome Senior High School staff who participated in an extensive training event to undertake the role.
