Teachers of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, Mexico Saturday - TopicsExpress

Teachers of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, Mexico Saturday occupied three airports, including the one in the capital Oaxaca, as well as the one in Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, and gas stations of various regions, in protest against the educational reform. [...] The teachers and supporters also occupied the city of Oaxaca’s bus terminal and highway tollbooths, and used the buses to block the roads in various regions of the state. In addition, shopping centers and other business zones, as well as federal offices, were taken over in order to urge the government of Oaxaca to agree to start negotiations, and force it to comply with its previous commitments. The national union of teachers has accused the Oaxaca government of moving ahead with centralized payment of payrolls, despite the fact that the educational reform has not been locally approved yet. #1world1struggle
