This means gold will head toward bedrock under a stream, and filter into the crevices in the rock. * ANYWHERE gold is found, silver is also found. The natural occurrence in the Earths crust, gold to silver ratio, is 32 to 1. * Gold is found all over the world, even in sea water. The key is that it is rarely found in COMMERCIAL quantities. * Gold in Colorado is no longer commonly found in nugget form on the East Slope of the Continental Divide. Gold is still there, but the old prospectors couldnt see it. The gold is in minute particles, which must be extracted by expensive ball crusher mills and the arsenic solution process. - However, gold is still found in nugget form on the West Slope of the Continental Divide, and is actively mined in places such as the Pennsylvania Mine. -
