Teaching technique in martial arts is the easy part. demonstrating, teaching and drilling techniques you believe in that have been passed on for years is fun and enjoyable. Teaching the discipline, respect, reliability, and honor that go with it is the complicated part (in todays society especially). My passion is building warriors of both ability AND virtue. Therefore if you want to be disrespectful, give the illusion of a fighter or an internet tough guy I am not interested in teaching you techniques that can hurt, cripple or impair someone. The question is where do we draw the line and how much do we allow? Are there lost causes? Can I morally turn my back on someone like this or dedicate more and more time to these people (even though other students are truly trying and grasping the concept and deserve more of the instructors time). The balancing act of Martial Arts is forever ongoing.
