Team Amplifiers (Sherjeel Sikander (CSE), Junaid Imtiaz (ES), Sameed Tariq (CSE) and Immad Imtiaz (CSW)) has made it to the World Finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup, after winning the national finals and world semifinals. The team will represent Pakistan at Microsoft Imagine Cup Seattle USA, the home of Microsoft. Imagine Cup is an annual competition sponsored and hosted by Microsoft Corporation with around 76 countries being represented in this iteration. It is to be noted that GIKIs Team EpiC came on top last year in Pakistan and represented the country at Imagine Cup 2013 Russia. This year, teams from all over Pakistan including NUST, LUMS, Bahria and FAST competed in 3 categories (World Citizenship, Innovation and Games) with GIKI winning 2 of the 3. 3D Printing with Kinect with Azeem Zaheer of FEE won the Innovation category while Project AMP of Team Amplifiers won the World Citizenship category. All 3 winners from Pakistan then competed in World Online Semifinals with over 76 countries and 170 winning student projects, from which Team Amplifiers has qualified for Top 35 teams to compete at the World Finals Seattle USA.
