Team Member John Salt Well I managed to sneak another few hours in today at the local lake. I couldnt get to the same area as yesterday as two anglers had 6 rods between them in the zone. So I thought to myself that the carp would back away from that area with the pressure, with nothing to go on I went to a area further up the lake I felt they may of moved to. I found a lovely clay spot with the marker and placed both rigs either side of the float afew feet apart. I chose to fish my tried and tested Multi-rigs with a curve as I believe it helps the rig even more to take hold and stay in, I want every pick up to end up in the net. The left hand rod was baited with a pink P2 pop up from Hall um baits while the right was baited with a white P2 pop up, both to a size 4 mugga hook but with a 2 1/2oz lead instead of my normal 4oz plus. I baited with 60 P2 boilies and within the hour the first double was in the net a nice common, the remaining rod let out afew bleeps which resulted in another double a mint half linear mirror. As you can see in the pic the swim was carnage, not a rig in the lake for 10mins while I rebaited and reset the rigs. Another 4 mid doubles were caught, after each take I baited with 40-60 boilies to try and keep them feeding and searching for food. As everybody knows I always give them plenty of food (Boilies) even in winter. It was hard fishing to be honest, the wind was fierce and freezing cold, it rained most of the time and when I put each carp back into the lake the water was that cold that my hands would hurt warming back up. The clothing as always kept me warm and comfortable which in turn makes me fish alot harder, when you get cold there is no motivation apart from going home, we have all done it.........
