Team Uganda To Glasgow returns Thursday The team that represented Uganda at the Commonwealth Games, which ended last Sunday, returns home on Thursday. The team, inspired by runner Moses Kipsiro’s 10,000m gold to finish 18th overall out of 71 countries, leaves Glasgow on Wednesday afternoon and spend a night in Dubai. They leave Dubai Thursday morning and land at Entebbe Airport at 1:30pm. Kipsiro, who became the first runner in history to defend the 10,000m title, will be on the same flight with the other team members. Team Uganda had an impressive campaign in Glasgow, winning five medals, four of them bronze, in total. Three of the medals came from athletics and the other two boxing. According to available records, this is Uganda’s biggest collection of medals since 1974 when the country picked nine. At the previous Games in New Delhi, India, Uganda got two gold medals all won by Kipsiro.
