Teammates, I want to thank the many of you who have given us excellent feedback and suggestions in response to the call for recommendations for a namesake for our professional order. The intent is to identify an historical icon that provides an inspirational example for all public affairs professionals to emulate. Traditionally, many professional orders have a patron saint as their namesake, but we realize that limiting nominations to that of a patron saint could be seen as exclusionary, and it would also cause us to potentially overlook other worthy nominees. History is rife with examples of other heralds and great communicators who have spread the important message of the day, and as you provide your suggestions, I would ask you to consider the full spectrum of historys great messengers in order to help us find the ideal symbol of our order, one we can all be proud of!
