Teamrider Phillip Kervel was competing at the Dutch National Championships last weekend. In difficult conditions and strong winds Phillip battled hard and managed to get 13th place. Here is his report on how the competition went. ---------- Day 1 I got to the location on Friday, to ensure I was there on time on Saturday for the competition. Registration was from 8:00 to 9:00 and the skippers meeting was held at 9:30. At around 10:15 the first heats started getting underway. I was in the 3rd heat, I chose to take my 9m Fury for the heat which was not the best choice because I was a little underpowered but ended up winning my heat. After that the wind started picking up and I had to go against my good friend. I had a bad heat and lost against him. At the end of the day they started with the first round of the doubles. My heat didn’t go as planned but ended up sticking a nice frontmobe, blind judge 3 and a lowmobe winning the heat. Day 2 The started with me being in the first heat, the wind was nuking! Took out my 7m Fury for my first heat of the day and ended up having a big crash with a 313 attempt. After that I decided to pull some big loops but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to convince the judges so I lost the heat. Overall I ended up 13th, not what I was hoping for but looking forward to this season to keep practicing and climbing up the ranking! ------------- Check out this nice little edit about Phillips weekend in Workum. https://vimeo/95337282
