‘Tears and Fears on Boston’s Orange line’ Tears are just Rain form the soul that thought entered my mind today as I sat on an orange line train across from me sat a middle aged man wearing a pained look wiping away tears he was wearing a T -shirt from a Polo event I am sure he may have attended to the needs and caring of the horses, not receiving the applause of the Ipswich Polo fans . As I got off at Sullivan Square, I touched him on the shoulder, saying “Tears some time are the soul’s rain” He looked at me with a sadness Page I could not heal I have a history of exiting the Orange line at Sullivan Square in tears , in pain and in happy surprise Once I was followed by a group of your men I was coming back from a club in Boston they were looking at me ,hauntingly they followed me from the station, I had not got out all that often dressed as a female not living to far from the station ‘I walked rapidly as they followed behind me, Touting me with, “Look at the man in the dress” I tossed my heels and ran home bare foot, taking a few known short cuts, avoiding a beating. another time as I was exiting Sullivan Square a man that had man been staring at me, creepily yelled out “It’s a man, look he has a Adam’s apple.” On this day, as I looked at the tears in this man’s eyes I recalled that time when a woman exiting the train, before Sullivan Square that had been, smiling my way passed me a note That read: The loafer Inn 2/5/99 “You are beautiful--- you make the world larger for all of us; thank you.” Today as I exited at Sullivan Square those past experiences raced across my mind as I felt the sadness in this man’s tears sitting across from me on the Orange line
