Tech Tuesday, this week we peak under the body work of a Tour Style Modified. The first two pictures show the chassis of the car that are similar in construction to the Super Late Model straight rail, but these cars have a sheet metal interior like a LMSC car. Photo 2 shows the rear setup of the car, a typical 3 link with a track bar with coil over shocks that connects the massive 14 wide tires to the track. Photo four shows the front suspension of the car, very similar to the straight rail late model with the same coil over shocks, bump stops and packers as well as the tubular A arms with a strut rod. The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Spec engine was just introduced last year it features an gm ls2 6.0 block with all the work done by Robert Yates Engines exclusively. The spec engine makes around 600hp witch is a rocket in a car with massive sticky tires weighing in at a mere 2600lbs. Some teams run a built engine that could make over 700 hp, witch makes these cars the fastest car that Nascar Sanctions. The body work on these cars is sheet metal and leaves the tires, front suspension and door bars out in the open. Hope you enjoyed this article and if theres anything I missed please comment below. I have only had the pleasure of working on one of these cars a handful of times.
