Technical Leader Overview Key role in the studio, the Technical Leader drives the development process for multiple projects: he defines the programming guidelines, oversees any high level decisions on technology aspects, and ensures implementation quality in the final product. At the start of a project, he works with a small core team defining the framework of the project, developing prototypes and planning the challenges to overcome during the production. During production, he works with the team and directors to define each feature’s technical frame, designs and communicates the code structure to the developers, then leads and monitor their work on these features. The Creative Leader must be able to make tough decisions that impact the project and the final product, have a good understanding of the bigger picture of game development, and the ability to inspire a team through excellent communication skills. He must also have a strong knowledge in games technologies, a solution-driven mind and great problem-solving skills. Responsibilities - Create the technology plan and development forecast for each project - Communicate with the programmers to present them design choices and support their technology choices - Review and approve completed engineering tasks in collaboration with producer, other directors and HQ - Establish studio department standards and maintain efficient coding practices - Evaluate and mentor programmers - Identify, analyze and introduce best practices or (new) technologies to improve game quality, team efficiency and development environment - Oversee all programming development for test automation and technology integration Skills and experience - 10 years of professional game programming or technical direction experience - Capable of providing focused and inspiring technical leadership - Strong aptitude for technical architecture and design - C/C++/C# proficiency - Experience in the design and implementation of game systems (engine, multi-threading, rendering, UI, game mechanics, online networking, database management) - Knowledge in various middlewares, framework and libraries used in video game development - Able to work with an existing game framework as well as build technology from scratch - Experience with software automation and a proven track records in helping teams adopt and accept more complicated forms of automation - Excellent oral and written communication skills, will to mentor programmers to raise their skills and knowledge - Experience with Agile development processes Interessados podem encaminhar o CV para sidia@samsung
