Technical teams begin talks as fighting continues in northern Shan State By KLN Tuesday, September 16, 2013 A battle took place between KIA’s 34thBattalion troops and Burmese army’s 502ndLight Infantry Battalion (LIB) troops at a location between Hka Hte and Mung Lang in northern Shan State on September 16 at 2:20 pm. KIA sources say 34th Battalion troops have encountered about 60 government troops from 502nd LIB on Monday. No casualties have been reported on either side. Despite fighting in KIA’s 4th Brigade area in nothern Shan State, KIA’s 12th Battalion area in 3rd Brigade is relatively calm today. KIO’s technical advisory team which includes civilian community leaders began negotiations with Burmese government’s technical team from Myanmar Peace Center (MPC) and officers from Northern Regional Military Command and Kachin State government at KIO technical team’s office in Myitkyina on September 16. kachinlandnews/?p=23696
