Uses measuring and diagnostic tools to test and modify electronic parts. Ensures systems and components meet established specifications. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A two year degree, diploma or certificate in the study of ELECTRONICS from a tech school, college or university. If there is military training, list specific training and experience with electronic component level theory and work assignments. The more detailed their electronics training the better. If experience is systems level only, may be sufficient to continue interview if it appears that there is enough electronics training. Experience with receivers, transmitters, power supplies and microprocessors. And the ability to troubleshoot them to the component level. If lacking some experience, there should at least be an understanding of the theory for these types of circuits. Basic electronics test equipment training. Knowledge of use of oscilloscope. Bonus points for spectrum analyzer, signal generators, etc. EDUCATION: A two year degree, diploma or certificate in the study of ELECTRONICS from a tech school, college or university. WORK HOURS: 2nd shift 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, overtime when needed may be before or after shift and possibly on Saturdays.
