Technician Grade I (LOWS/ATWS) Rail Safety Solutions are the UK’s leading provider of specialist railway services. We have more than 100 years combined experience of delivering Track Warning Systems (TWS), Safety Critical and Contingent Labour. The Rail Safety Solutions name is synonymous with track warning systems in particular Lookout Operated Warning Systems (LOWS) and Automatic Track Warning Systems (ATWS). These roles are permanent full time positions based on a 40 hour working week located at various sites throughout the UK. General description of the job: To ensure the culture of the company is ingrained in all workers that safety, professional delivery and the right work ethics and attitude are displayed at all times to ensure that we retain and increase our work banks. Working with the resource team to ensure all identified workers attend shifts and have full PPE. To manage, supervise, coach and mentor existing track warning teams and new recruits to ensure that workers on site are always working to a safe system of work, developing their skills and competencies. Interact with clients in a professional manner to ensure that the work delivered is of the highest quality, the workforce on site are professional with their delivery and that client issues are raised to the next level if they cannot be resolved on site. In conjunction with the HSQE and fleet team, conduct safety tours, fleet checks, toolbox talks and briefings. This role is rostered over a 7 day / night period as required. Main duties: Safe and successful delivery of Lookout Operated Warning Systems (LOWS) and Operation/Installation of Automatic Track Warning Systems (ATWS) ensuring compliance with all Network Rail Standards and Procedures Onsite and depot liaison with clients Conduct site LOWS/ATWS assessments, mentoring and training – recording all details against individual workers records Encourage the involvement in the client’s safety strategy Ensure compliance with all relevant Network Rail standards Manage all costs associated with contract delivery Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others who may be affected by acts or omissions related to your work.
