Technology junkies! Suffered withdrawal symptoms-period of information deprivation. We lost our internet and phone connection for a day and a half .A bad cable up at 7-11 that runs thru our backyard is to blame.( ATnT took care of it this morning) The gadgets are part of our lives and we literally cannot do without them eh? LOL Anyhoo,Im backkkkkkkkkkkkk............. Clearly, I love Advent. I love preparing for Christmas and counting down the days. I love rituals and traditions. It is this time of the year again with its warmth and scents bringing back memories from our childhood.I love the appeal to my nose that the food sends out, the smells of fine cooking that allure me as soon as I come in the door. Whether it is garlic permeating the air, or cinnamon and spices that dad is baking with, or beef roasting in the oven, I breathe it all in with delight. I inhale the pungent oregano-and-basil tomato sauce cooking in a huge pot on the stove or bread fresh out of the oven and carry their perfume with me wherever i go. It even seems to hang on the clothing I wear. The smells surround me like a cloud and comfort me like sunshine. What better time of year to warm up in the kitchen and get baking? Creating new Christmas traditions with Leo and filling our home with the comforting scent of homemade sweets are just added bonuses! Everyone loves cookies and cupcakes, they help celebrate the holidays, especially at Christmas time. Pics: Now smell this... Leos first batch of chocolate cupcakes (finally got around to trying our his new icing piping tool purchased months ago..lol ) ,Leos egg custard tarts with a twist , he added pineapple flavouring. It takes about 35 minutes to make a small batch of eight tarts. Cold with an isolated sprinkle today. Just the type of weather for a hot bowl of my homemade noodle soup.
