Ted Contri was a great man and since I just found out today he Flew West earlier this year. I have to Post this. The credit is on the bottom corner. This was Teds first 51. He paid $65,000 per him. He had flown it with the prior owner, and when he died his wife offered it to Ted. This is the 51 I rode in. My Dad rode in LIZ. Its a long story but I will tell you this is what kind of guy Ted was. I didnt ask him. He offered me my a ride at the Madera Airshow. The funny part of the story was we were up for 45 minutes, We buzzed a couple of guys in a fishing boat. They called it in. Thank God for small N numbers. All the FAA had was it was a loud red airplane. He told me that afternoon about being asked if he had done it. He denied it of course. Nothing came of it but he didnt take anyone else for a ride that day. I will never forget him. Blue skies and tailwinds forever Ted.
