Ted Turner, the billionaire who started Turner Broadcasting - TopicsExpress

Ted Turner, the billionaire who started Turner Broadcasting Systems, took some criticism when he began taking classic, old black and white films and colorizing them through new technology. Film purists said it compromised the integrity of the original film and made it less than it was before. But to the average viewer like me it had an entirely different effect. It took something old and made it come alive on the screen in a way it never had before. It allowed me to see the film in the way I actually saw the world... in color. God works like this in our lives but its almost in reverse. When we are born, we are born into sin. We see life in a skewed way. In a way thats through worldly eyes, the eyes of mere man. When we find God its like the scene from The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy and friends entered the land of Oz... everything instantly turned into Technicolor! Life is different and it will never be the same again. We now see things through the eyes of the one who created us! Through other worldly eyes that give us a whole new perspective. Life, which seemed difficult and sometimes pointless now has meaning. Things that made no sense in the world are brought into perspective as we begin to think eternally instead of worldly. C.S. Lewis wrote about this when he said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” I can tell you what Lewis wrote is true because I have experienced it. When I accepted Christ into my life, my entire perspective changed. Life had an entirely new purpose. It certainly didnt become easy with no problems and no challenges... but it became filled with a joy that only comes when you know who you are, where you came from, why you are here and where you are going. So today I ask you. Are you living in a world that only projects itself in black and white? If thats so, step into the Technicolor world of the God who died for you to live. The blood that Jesus shed was never in the dull black and whites of those old movies. It was bright red from the very beginning and has been calling for you to come to Him and see life in the way it was meant to be seen. Today, if you hear God calling you... Do not harden your heart. Run to him. He has been waiting for you. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace
