Teen charged following armed robbery incidents – Kingsford A teenager has been charged following two alleged armed robbery incidents on international students in Sydney’s Eastern Beaches overnight. About 2.50am (Monday 9 September 2013), an 18-year-old male allegedly approached two male students within university grounds on Anzac Parade. The male threatened the pair, aged 22 and 25, with a knife and demanded money. Both students handed over their wallets before the male fled the location. A short time later the male allegedly threatened the driver of a vehicle that was also parked within the grounds on Science Street. Officers were told he threatened the 37-year-old male driver with the knife and again demanded money. The driver handed the male a sum of money before he left the location, walking toward Barker Street. After remaining in his vehicle for a short time, the driver followed the male on foot and raised the alarm with police who were patrolling the area. Police chased the male for a short distance before he was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station. He was charged with two counts of robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and refused bail to appear before Central Local Court on Tuesday 29 October, 2013.
