Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was such an odd film. On the one hand the first part of the film was filmed in an incredibly cool style, there were some awesome shots and the colors seemed to explode off screen. Then the second half it seemed that they just sort of gave up. Leonardo was not the leader we know and love. Everything became dark and gritty. Mikey was portrayed the best as well as Shredder. The best action scenes involved the iconic badass sporting one of the coolest costumes Ive seen on screen in a long while. It made me think that the Silver Samurai in The Wolverine was an absolute joke. Will Arnett was great too. But other than those redeeming qualities, the action scenes were few and far between and our favorite heroes in a half shell sucked at fighting. I didnt hate the film but I didnt love it either. I think that this film lies in recommendation purgatory.
