Tehran and Ankara close positions. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, traveled to Iran to relaunch bilateral relations with the signing of several trade agreements. After months in which their relationship had cooled their opposing stances on Syria, an issue that is also on the table, Erdogan wants to strengthen ties, especially in economic matters. Erdogan has welcomed the signing of what he called a preferential trade agreement. Turkey and Iran is heavily dependent on Russia for its energy resources. It aims to increase its oil and gas importanciones from Tehran, through the lifting of sanctions. Both countries want to double the volume of their trade, to 30,000 million in 2015
