Tekkers challenged but fight on to secure second clean sheet. Tekkerslovakia took on new kids on the block Frasier FC, who after just three games had found them self in the four, with three consecutive wins. Tekkers were without Kai Turner (whos quest for the ultimate aesthetic sees him gym most nights, even after Tekkers games), unavailable due to the early kick off time of 6pm. FFC got the ball rolling from kick off, and instantly showed they would challenge the Tekkers, knocking the ball around with composure and keeping possession. However it was Alex Holly (fresh from fist pumping up a storm with Diplo at Stereosonic) that opened the scoring after beating one opponent and then finishing near post. The game then turned into a real arm wrestle, neither side being able to assert their dominance. Then the FFC cavalry rode in, filling their sub bench with a plentiful amount of youth. This was dangerous for the Tekkers lads, who with only one on the bench, and a much older average age were sure to run out of legs eventually. Though it was Tekkers who scored again, doubling their lead. Leigh Osbourne (ESPNs Bachelor of the year for the second time running) restarted play quickly. His long throw found Andy Barton (who has recently been bound by the shackles of love) on the break, and in what was relatively easy for the seasoned campaigner he slotted home for 2-0. FFC were far from out of it though, and a tidy bit of interplay found a FFC striker with just Osborne to beat. Aaron Parker (World famous for his thumb dance) did well to make ground and broke up the play with an excellent timed tackle blocking the shot. Unfortunately for the Tekkers best defenseman hurting his groin in the process. Holly then picked out Barton with a full length of the court ball, with just seconds left on the clock. Barton attempted the sideways scissor but gravity brought him thudding back to earth without making any meaningful connection with he football. 2-0 at half time and with Parkers injury worries the Tekkers were looking as vulnerable as ever. Parker courageously attempted to play on in the second half, but after a few minutes it was apparent he would not be able to do so. This left Tekkerslovakia without a sub, and in danger of running out of legs late in the game. To counter that, it was obvious Tekkers wanted to score early, to heap the scoreboard pressure on the FFC lads, who would be fresher late on with 3 on the bench fit and available. Holly provided, scoring 3 second half goals, including a nice long ranger, after the ball was played in from the sidelines. Though the real credit must go to Mike Maguire (rumored to be doing a break away single co written with Tekkers own Osborne) and Ewen Morris (ladies of blues fest beware the Sargent Shlong is on his way). Both those lads pushed hard through a half with no rest, and did a lot more defending than they would have preferred. Constantly working up and down the court, making challenges, busting up the FFC attacks, stepping up and doing the job for the injured Parker. Parkers injury is currently under review, but it is worrying signs ahead of the very first Tekkerslovakia Invitational this Sunday. Crowd: 3 Squad: Alex Holly (4), Andy Barton (1), Leigh Osborne, Aaron Parker, Mike Maguire, Ewen Morris.
