Telephone Exchanges Since FB is mostly a sort of group memoir about various slices of time and place - as I was trying to get my cell fixed I began thinking about the rotary phones, and in my day - we were really just at the end of telephone exchanges. And I remembered as clear as day, TR8- I could put the rest down but wont since someone will probably use it to scam me. TR stood for TREMONT. Tremont is a street and a neighborhood in the northwest Bronx. I suppose there was a General Tremont from either the civil- or revolutionary-war - but that doesnt matter because whoever he was - I dont care.
