Temporary School System Website Online- Earlier this week, an error by a member of the Technology Services Department shut-down the UCPS website and all school websites. Technology Services is working around the clock to restore full functionality. “We greatly regret the mistake that was made by a member of our team, especially as teachers and students are returning to school,” said Tony Burrus, Chief Technology Officer. “Unfortunately mistakes happen. We are working to both correct the error and ensure that this cannot happen again.” As the department works to restore the full website, a temporary website is in place. Important links are being added as they become available. “The school system website is a source of pride for our district. It has won state awards on a yearly basis,” shared Chief Communications Officer Rob Jackson. “In rebuilding the website, the Communications Department will be working with Technology Services to recreate a useful, intuitive tool that serves our students, parents, and staff well.” The goal of the restoration project is to have as many functions restored by Monday morning as possible. Individual school webpages will become available as quickly as possible.
