Temps are better today, and were finding many dogs inside! Many of our new cases are found with blankets in their shelters vs straw. This is a reminder to share that blankets/towels/coats etc retain moisture and become very cold and uncomfortable for the dog. Straw is hollow and does not retain moisture - its the best insulator for an outside dog. We dont use heating elements in doghouses because when youre struggling financially, you cant afford extra electric costs. But also, a dog outside 24/7 gets bored easily - which means cords and heating elements can become dangerous toys. #themoreyouknow
