Ten Minute Pool, huh????........ being the first to be on the brook in the morning, meant navigating the 70% grade in the dark by placing your wader heels into the foothold root sysyem that has been created over the years... As I sit on the only rock in the pool having my smoke, just waiting for the sun to get a little higher down below, I hear car doors from up above. .. Because of the ease of fishing this pool is very popular, but being as small as it is makes it one of the islands so called 10 minute pools.... Ten minutes of casting over a perfect pool, anticipating one of the few fish that are laying there to smash the white wing blue charm every single time is presented. ... Then someone from behind gives a subtle cough for reminder that the preverbeal ten minutes is almost up.... That one last cast before the shameless reel and walk in out of the pool and as you turn around another soul already has his line in hand to try his luck at those silver darts resting in place on their annual trek.... a quick pan through the few faces that have showed up on this beautiful morning reveal some familiar fishers, and before I get to my thermos of coffee the guy behind me stirs one up. .. Oh well, I guess I was warming em up for ya is the usual response I give them. ... lol. .. Mine and 4 more rods leaning against the river bank, plus the one on the brook right now means 10 minutes of every hour I stay will be fishing time. .. I turn to the guy next to me and strike up conversation. .... Man I love this sport. ...... Rodney Stroud
