Ten days after the general elections of 13 April 2014 and after all the disputes were resolved, the Electoral Commission of Guinea-Bissau published the final results yesterday: Presidential Election: José Mário Vaz of the PAIGC party received 40.89% of the vote and Nuno Nabiam, independent, received 24.79%. This means there will be a second round between these two candidates. The run-off will probably happen on 18 May. The turnout in the presidential election was 89.29%. Legislative election: The PAIGC got 47.98% of the vote, which gave it 57 of the 102 seats (55.88% of the seats), the PRS was in place second place with 30.76% of the vote, giving it 41 seats (40.19% of the seats). The PCD got 2 seats and the PND and the UM got one seat each. The turnout in the legislative election was 88.57%.
