Ten days till Chicago marathon!! Kept thinking about my conversation yesterday with this nice lady that I met, Pat. I could be wrong about her age, I think 55-60, not polite to ask. But shes doing her first marathon, pretty impressive and doing it for a charity, Spina Bifida. She will be running slowly , she thought around 14:00 miles or so, getting in with 5:30 pace group. I just think its so gutsy, running/ walking finishing 26.2 miles is dare I say without sounding like bragging quite an accomplishment!! My first marathon I ran took me 4:12, I was happy to finish and knew Id like to do it again and do better. I told Pat Ill be thinking about her, praying for her. How cool would it be to be able to see her cross and get her medal!! Heres to Pat and all the others who keep me believing that I can do this no matter what age!!! My good friend Bruce Svoboda help me train for my first marathon, twenty marathons later for me and Bruce on his 90 something one is amazing!!!! Heres to Bruce helping me with my first , Im hoping I was a help to Pat and some others with their first!!!
