SABRINA (Billy Wilder, 1954) - Because they dont make romantic comedies like this anymore, and Hepburns chemistry worked wonderfully with Bogarts. SPIRITED AWAY (Hayao Miyazaki, 2001) - because its the Japanese virtuosos magnum opus, and One Summers Day still tugs at my heart strings. STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (George Lucas, 1980) - because we can never forget the secret Luke discovered in Cloud City. THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (Frank Darabont, 1994) - because nothing screams freedom more than Andy Dufresne emerging from that mud, and Morgan Freeman is the perfect narrator. SEVEN SAMURAI (Akira Kurosawa, 1954) - because Toshiro Mifune is Japans Marlon Brando, and Ive never seen a more beautiful black-and-white epic. SE7EN (David Fincher, 1995) - because thats whats in the box. SHUTTER ISLAND (Martin Scorsese, 2010) - because the asylum is sufficiently creepy and Leo is fantastic as always. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (Danny Boyle, 2008) - because, like the great film SCHINDLERS LIST (also on here), one of two Best Picture Oscar winners to show a kid jumping into poop. THE SEVENTH SEAL (Ingmar Bergman, 1957) - because of the iconic image of a knight playing chess with the Grim Reaper on the beach. SCHINDLERS LIST (Steven Spielberg, 1993) - because I could have got more out.
