Ten months ago, I joined a GOALS trip for five days through Desolation Canyon, Utah. Not only was it remarkable to watch the incredible impact that the canyon had on these young people, I returned indelibly changed. The GOALS program uses wilderness canyon river trips to teach lessons about self-reliance and taking safe risks while running remarkable rapids, surrounded by indescribable majesty.
