Ten reasons why Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany last night:- 1. Netymer not playing - the star striker was not playing due to an injury and Brazil missed him immensely. He could control the game and even slowed it down with his controlled play. When you are playing against the worlds best team, you want your best player to be playing. 2. Siva not playing - the Brazilian captain didnt play due to a suspension and his leadership was severely missed. When Brazil was 2 nil down, no one could calm things down like him and Caeser the keeper was looking at everyone nearby in distress. In thirty minutes, the game was over when it hit 4-0 quickly. 3. Brazilians too impatient - right from the opening minute, the Brazilians stàrted to attack frantically leaving large gaps in their defence. The Germans counter-attacked effectively and often they outnumbered the Brazilians in the penalty area when the five first-half goals were scored. 4. Ball-watching defenders - Brazilian defenders ball-watched at least in three of the early goals and did not even move when the Germans tried to score. This resulted in suspicion that some players could be bought over in a fixed game. During the second half, the whole team played much better but it was already game over at 5-0 during half time. 5. Ruthless German - the famed efficiency of the Germans was in full display yesterday and they scored 5 goals out of eight shots on target during the first half. They also passed to the best positioned player to score rather than going for fame themselves. 6. Teamwork - Germany probably plays as a team more than any other football teams playing in the world cup right now and this alone should win them more new fans than ever before. In an era whereby personal glory means a better contract with the best club calling, such German selfless team spirit is commendable. 7. Klose playing - whenever Klose is playing, the German attack looks dangerous and formidable with Muller supporting. I am sure he will feature in the final game. Already at 35 years old, this could be his last world cup. He is also the player that has scored the most goals in world cup matches - 16. 8. Home crowd stress - playing in front of your own country in a win or die situation does add stress to your play and the Brazilians exhibited that when they were 2 nil down. Instead of consolidating after down 2 nil, they went all out to attack leaving large gaps in their defence. Two other quick goals followed...4-0 and game over. 9. Defence suspect all along - throughout the world cup games, we witnessed a shaky Brazilian defence and they were lùcky to escape defeat by Chile in round 16. The goal post saved them thrice in that game or else we wouldnt watch the massacre yesterday. 10. Coach Scolari issue - the current Brazilian coach is also questionable as he was sacked by Chelsea two years ago. At 3-0 down, he should have changed the keeper Caeser as its apparent he was distressed by the goals scored in quick succession. To his credit, the keeper played a better game in the second half stopping at least three shots. But the game was already over...
