Ten things you probably don’t know about me. (Inviting others to play along as well.) 1. I have never been on a horse. Ever. 2. Except for a handful of episodes of “Hill Street Blues,” I have not watched a prime time TV show since the 1960s. 3. I started a baseball card collection in 1961 when my mom gave me a penny to ride my bike to the store to get bread. I bought one card. Twenty-nine years later, I sold my collection for $13,000. 4. Once, as part of a minor-league promotion, I got to hit against Bob Feller. I one-hopped the wall in right-center and got a certificate calling it a double. 5. I once kicked a football off a tee, through the uprights, from 60 yards out. About a year later, I did it again. (Nice breeze, both times.) 6. I’ve written a couple of political parody songs, and one of them was played on Laura Ingraham’s show. 7. I dated Hilary Duff’s mom in high school. 8. I have an MP3 recording of every song that made the Billboard Top 40 chart from 1955 through 1969. That’s over 4,000 songs. 9. I shook hands with Richard Nixon while he was running for president in 1968. 10. I am directly related to Lucille Ball. We had the same great-great-great grandparents.
