Ten years ago, I moved to L.A. with a spec script under my arm called Prince Of Hell: The True Story Of Dracula. It won Honorable Mention in a fairly prestigious screen-writing contest, got optioned for a very small amount of money by an indie agent, and got some nibbles of interest from New Line and DreamWorks... and then went nowhere. A few months later, I heard several reports that another true Dracula script had been greenlit, then fallen into development hell. I guess its been resurrected! This movie looks nothing like the one I wrote (for one thing, it has actual vampires in it), and Im not sure if I think it looks any good. But at least SOMEONE appears to have successfully brought good ole Vlad IV Dracula the Impaler, Voivode Of Wallachia, to the big screen for more than a few minutes. I hope it doesnt suck.
