Ten years ago this week I made a decision that radically changed my life - I decided to become a highpointer. Since November of 2004, I have summitted the highest points of 42 states - most of them more than twice. The joy of it all has been overwhelming. The challenge, the adventure, the fun, the struggles, the beauty and majesty have all been worth it. For those of you who have accompanied me on many of these excursions, I hope you loved it as much as I have. Many of these places are so magnificently spiritual that mere words cant even to begin to describe them. My original goal 10 years ago was to summit the highest point of each of the lower 48 states, but all the climbing stuff with ropes etc is really not for me. Some good hiking boots, a pole, and a backpack are just fine for me. I can hardly wait to see what the next ten years will be like!!
