Tenei koutou e nga Rangatira E nga mana, e nga reo, karangaranga e te hui paiarahi o te ipurangi ra nei. Tena tatau. The Maori IT Meetup is an amazing opportunity to share, to hear, to learn, to inspire and to network. The 4 sessions we have planned are shaped around Maori Storytelling, the challenges and opportunities of Maori IT Infrastructure, creating Maori Content on digital platforms and looking back 200 years to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, and what that means for our collective future. Our theme for this year is “Maori 2040: Our Vision for the Future” and we are privileged to have an incredible line up of speakers confirmed; these include: - Ian Taylor (Animation Pioneer) - Haami Piripi (Maori IT Infrastructure) - Ian Ruru (App Game Developer) - Karleen Everitt (Maori IT Governance) - Puawai & Arahi Hagger (Ratana Archives, Community Hub) - Colin Heke (Whanau, Iwi IT Services) - Kahotapu Black (Digital Entrepreneur, Computers in Marae) - Ngahuia Tahau & Moananui Rameka (Geospatial Storytelling) - Richard McKenzie (Vodafone Maori Sector) - Te Aroha Morehu (Internet Networking) - Antony Royal (Nga Pu Waea, 2 Degrees) - Wiremu Paipa (IT Infrastructure) - Llanasa Peachey (Maori eCommerce) - Te Hamua Nikora (Facilitator, Motivational Energizer) We are still awaiting confirmation from a number of exciting Maori IT speakers, and will forward a fully updated list shortly. With such a diverse array of Maori IT Practitioners and Digital Leaders, it is important that we now start reaching out to invite nga whanau katoa, to signal the putatara and to ensure those who want to join us, can prepare for it today.
