Tennyson has given us poetry equal to Shakespeare’s best pennings. And I love his “Idylls of the King,” an extraordinary poetic expression about King Arthur and The Round Table: gutenberg.org/ebooks/610. It is a beautiful work that should be read by all virtuous warriors wishing to think, uphold, and do good acts. In Idylls of the King there is Mordrid, a dysfunctional, maniacal, and life-taking person that causes the demise of The Round Table through gossip, slander, propaganda, treachery, and the demanding of a literal interpretation of Arthur’s own law. And I find it interesting that Mordrid is alive and well in so many countries, including the USA, while Arthur remains hidden in some otherworldly Kingdom known either as abstract myth or concrete fairytale. Let us resurrect The Round Table as each heart joined to the other in an egalitarian Circle of inter-being and inter-kindness. Much love to you this day, my brothers and sisters.
