Tenth Circuit Presiding Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd has announced the Missouri Heart Gallery will be on display at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 South Main St., Hannibal, Missouri, on September 22, 24, 25, and 26, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Missouri Heart Gallery is a joint effort between the Missouri Department of Social Services and the Adoption Exchange of Missouri to raise awareness about children in need of foster and adoptive families in Missouri. The display contains pictures and information about many of the 1,400 children eligible for adoption in Missouri. Currently, the Tenth Judicial Circuit, which consists of Marion, Monroe, and Ralls Counties, has more than one hundred seventy children in foster care, and more than 12,000 children are in foster care within the state. The Tenth Circuit has a great need for additional foster families. Judge Shepherd said, “I greatly appreciate the opportunity to have the Heart Gallery display in Northeast Missouri to increase the awareness of the need for additional foster and adoptive families.” If you would like more information about the Heart Gallery or becoming a foster or adoptive parent, please call 1-800-554-2222 or the Tenth Circuit Children’s Division at 573-406-6923. moheartgallery.org/gallery
