Teresa M Kohler shared The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessees status update. Mon · Edited · youtu.be/HmC_nLOr9R8. *Must watch!!!* Dedicated to Misty. Yesterday I had one of the most gratitude filled moments of my life. In my earlie 20s I had worked for a the film industry company that owned Misty at the time. It was a long time ago and the memories still haunt me. Not long after I ended my employment I read about the incident at Lion Country in which Misty had killed a man. Of course it was tragic for the person who had died and his loved ones. It was a horrific ordeal for Misty! With fire trucks ramming her, enough terrior & rage that she managed to rip her remaining chain off and rampage out accross the open scrub fields. Freeways were shut down and the story said there was a Sherf helicopter in the air with a gun man ready to take her out before the trainers managed to contain her. I remember thinking that I wished, in a heart breaking way that they would have just killed her because what was in store if she lived would be unimaginable!!! If your your a working elephant, already considered to be a dangerous one at that, you dont just get to walk away from killing someone as if it didnt happen and carry on with your normal, already abusive life.... Oh No, that would not be the case. I never followed over the years, I already knew it was unbearably bad! Yesterday when I typed the words Misty the Elephant into the search I didnt realy expect to find anything... O M G !!!! In a few clicks I was watching Misty take her walk to freedom!!! I think I have to stop typing even now, I cant see through my tears, Happy Heart felt tears. If this can happen, anything is possible, may all our freedom dreams come true and peace prevail!!! The entire universe sings your praise, and one BIG thankyou, from one small person for all the hard work and action it takes to make something like The Elephant Sanctuary happen !!! youtu.be/HmC_nLOr9R8 The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee added a new photo. Thu · Edited · TES INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS-- As many of you know, The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee is a supporting partner to Global Sanctuary for Elephants and Ecopolis in their efforts to provide sanctuary to “Ramba,” the last remaining circus elephant in Chile. Today, Ramba is no longer living on a concrete slab the size of a two-car garage, kept by people who were fined for abuse and animal trafficking. She is now grazing and frolicking in the mud on 2.5 acres at a temporary facility in central Chile while Elephant Sanctuary Brazil (where Ramba will eventually reside) is under development. During this time of transition, we’ve been helping Global Sanctuary and Ecopolis to provide Ramba with a second chance and an opportunity for a forever home with elephant companionship. To support Ramba’s care through the remainder of 2014 (Sept—Dec), we have a generous donor willing to match the first $2,500 in donations. YOUR CONTRIBUTION will provide Ramba with the continuous care of two caregivers who are devoted to her well-being.
