Teresa Mitchell - Introducing a dog to a baby - I didnt want to hicack the other thread but I thought you may find the following useful Using a waist lead can be useful, once your dog is used to it, as it leaves your hands free. Bring the baby into the room but as far away as possible (it needs to be a distace at which your dog doesnt react beyond looking) and sit and wait until your dog turns away from looking at the baby and looks ar you at that poing praise and reward (cliclk and reward if you use a clicker) every timeshe turns from the baby and looks at you do the same . When she is calm at that distance you can bring the baby a tiny bit closer and repeat. If at any point she starts pulling towards the baby the baby should be taken further away. What you are aiming for is having a dog who choses to ignore the baby, happy for the baby to be there because the baby being there means treats but just ignoring it. There are additioal things you can do like letting her sniff the baby blankets without the baby there.- there are a couple of useful websites https://positively/articles/how-to-safely-introduce-your-dog-to-your-new-baby/ and familypaws/
