Term of the Week - Instant Replay – If a play on the field is challenged (see red flag) the head referee will review the play by using a TV monitor on the field to see the play again. They normally see more then one view of the play, which can help in determining if the call on the field will stand or be over turned. The head referee will also be in contact with the referee that is watching the game up in the press area. Instant Replay (in the press area) will also be used to review each touchdown (new rule started with 2012 season.)
