Terminological question: Our Honduran Startup City will feature private organizations to provide insurance and welfare for their members. In honor of the 19th century Mutual Aid Societies I have been calling them Mutual Aid Societies internally. But one of my colleagues has proposed the term Civic Societies which in some respects suggests a broader role which I see as entirely consistent with the ultimate role that these organizations will play. Any suggestions as to which terminology is more compelling, or alternative suggestions? Here is a historical article on Mutual Aid by David T.
