Terms of Reference - The formation of the National Public Health Association Date: June 7, 2014 Introduction There is no country in the world that can meet its agenda for development without the contribution of public health because whatever we do to meet the demand of our people it has to do with public health one way or the other ( professor G MT report November 2009 NUPHA launching) The Purpose of the formation of the National Public Health Association is to transform the lives of people living in Sierra Leone by advocating, conducting research, analyzing public Health data in other to provide support to health service delivery. Secondly to provide direction for public health personnel through catering for their welfare and placement in to health institutions as a sole foundation of reducing the denominators of our country health statistics The body will also serve as a center for consultation on public health issues and serves as a backup task force team to support the Government in terms of disease out breaks such as cholera, Lassa Fever, Ebola to name but few Overview of the meeting This meeting aims to bring together trained and qualified public health professions at all levels ( certificate, diploma, undergraduate and post graduate), for us to discuss on the formation of this noble institution . This session will be a round table discussion that will comprehend the type of Association we may need to address these challenges in our country Objectives of the meeting: • Review the TOR • Draw out a strategic frame work on which the Association will be established • Identify a working group that will work on the propose frame work For more detail, please read the attached file.
