Terre des hommes – child relief Delegation in Kosovo Job Vacancy Local Civil Society Project Coordinator for managing and EU grant 24 Months Limited Contract Terre des hommes – Child relief, Delegation in Kosovo, seeks to recruit an Local Civil Society Project Coordinator under the framework of the project “Fostering Protection of Human Rights and Participation of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Civil Society” supported by European Commission. I. Purpose of the position: The purpose of the position is to organize regular coordination of the 12 NGOs of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in the framework of “Fostering Protection of Human Rights and Participation of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Civil Society” project and facilitating their development in order to properly represent their community. II. Major Responsibilities: 1. Ensure direct regular meetings with the Local Civil society project named: “Fostering Protection of Human Rights and Participation of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Civil Society” in collaboration with the local partner. 2. Ensure that the representatives of the NGOs participate in the meetings/capacity building organized. 3. Regular meetings with them and direct coaching on their process in the framework of the project. 4. Good knowledge of the context of the areas that implementing directly. 5. Work directly with key people in the community: such as: parents, children and youth and other key people in order to ensure their participation. 6. Ensure that dialogue between the civil society and the local government by organizing regular round tables. 7. Regular meetings with the community committees as per Plan of Action. 8. Regular meetings with the existing children/youth groups. 9. Support the Deputy Country Representative in regular monthly/semi-annual and annual reporting. 10. Regular communication with the other project coordinator of partner organization. 11. Ensure that the materials are understood in the local language. 12. Ensure the spending of the budget per the activity is done accordingly as per budget line. 13. Ask regular advice from the Deputy Country Representative. 14. Prepare regular planning and share with the Deputy Country Representative.. 15. Ensure minorities participation in the project. 16. Ensure regular exchange visits between the 12 NGOs. 17. Build partnerships with similar NGOs in the area that is implementing. 18. Spend regular time and daily communication with the project beneficiaries. 19. One database is in place with the contacts and the information of all the beneficiaries. III. Requirements and Qualifications: 1. Bachelor degree in a related field of social sciences,( Social Work, Psychology, International Development, etc) 2. Experience in working as coordinator in EU grants is preferred. 3. At least 6 months-1 year of experience of work with Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian civil society and communities-required. 4. Experience from an NGO setting is desirable 5. Experience and knowledge on child rights, child protection and case management-required. 6. Good cross cultural understanding and open to work in an diverse ethnic environment 7. Computer competency (especially Microsoft Office package). 8. Knowledge of written and spoken English is required. 9. Analytical skills and good attention to details. 10. Show integrity and maturity. 11. Relate well to people and very good team member. Location: Prishtina, Kosovo with regular trips to the cities of intervention. Note*: “Fostering Protection of Human Rights and Participation of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Civil Society-LCS’’ is a project that aims to strengthen the local civil society of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities and in more specific is aims: 1-Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Civil society Organizations-CSO’s capacities for political representation and participation are increased. 2-: Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities and local government structures have raised awareness and are educated on the protection of child rights. 3-: Children, Youth, Local Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian organizations and community members advocate for their needs and promote their values. The Purpose of the project: 1) to contribute to a strong Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian civil society that influences decision making at local and national level for the protection of their rights and to contribute to a full integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo society. Also that Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians civil society is organizationally strengthened, participates in promoting human rights and advocates for the protection of their rights (with a special focus on child rights) The beneficiaires: 12 Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian local NGOs, 6 children/youth existing groups and 6 community councils groups.
