Terrific article in this mornings Times-News on the incredible work happening at Harvey Newlin Elementary school under the leadership of principal Larry Conte. “We’re in the business of changing lives,” Conte said. “It’s a little different calling from educating...What’s important is that our staff gets that this whole schooling thing is about a relationship between student and teacher,” Conte said. “The stronger it is, the more learning you get, and they want to be in school.” Holy Comforter is blessed to be partnering with this school to support students, teachers, and parents and blessed by the energy and passion of parishioners like Betsey Savage, Kathy Hykes, and our Newlin Elementary School Task-force. Thanks to all those in the parish whove gotten involved. Also a wonderful front-page read this morning on Kathy Hykes as she steps onto City Council!
