Terry Thomas Owen, Sr. was a prosecutor for many years at 201 Poplar. He was a fair and effective adversary. I recall a soft and raspy voice, and unlike most in our profession, he spoke deliberately and with precision. I saw him display the rare ability to listen without emotion to some of the directives of Judge Ann Pugh-- a talent that I never really mastered. He was very effective in General Sessions Court because he always came around to reminding everyone what the Defendant had done. I understand he had been ill for a number of years. He will be missed and well remembered by the lawyers at 201 Poplar as one who carried the torch of prosecutions with dignity and respect.
