Testimony: I left Grambling in the Fall of 08. They had told me i have exhausted all funds and could no longer get any financial aid. And So i hung my head and pack my things and I left home for California. It was sad but upon getting there I wasnt home for one full year without getting a job at a school to actually teach voice. I had just enough faith in God, (which was very very little) to hold on to what God had promised me He would do. Its hard to hold on in the face of adversity. I knew I would return to Grambling, just didnt know when . I had almost totally given up on music, my hopes, and my dreams. I didnt win the Apollo when I went , My first album recorded wasnt the greatest, (In my opinion felt it coulda been a lot better mixing and such) I was really down on myself and searching. Until I met these little kids in my class i taught. Gifted was born. Through ups and downs and a whole lot of teaching and songs, tears and struggles, they won . They graduated years later. And i was revived. Only to find that I was still not complete, within myself there was something more that I wanted. I wanted to finish what i started. As they began to leave for college and their lives I began searching again, and I heard God tell me it was soon time to return back to school. I began the process, but NO SCHOOL IN CALIFORNIA WOULD TAKE ME! Trust me I tried them all, however in the meantime Gifted had taught me so many lessons of life that I needed in order to grow up . - because LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - SOMETIMES< YOU HAVE TO PUT AWAY CHILDISH THINGS AND GROW UP!!!! No way around that. No school would take me so I called Grambling, an old friend who i used to have classes with picked up the phne, within minutes of talking and laughing and reminiscing, I was ADMITTED into the COLLEGE. From there it was a blind, CAKE walk... !!! Things fell into place as i followed the LORD. The real part comes when I tell you I had a plan to pay 1616 for my tuition out of pocket. I left LA with barely 1500 in my pocket to pay for tuition, and prayed for a job. * Not only did I find employment, I have now been working for a month and have acquired over 2000 dollars for college. BUt thats not the testimony..!!!!! The testimony is when i DENIED other higher paying positions to stay humble and focused and being a GOOD STERWART over that which GOD blessed me with...(all money aint good money) (grass isn always greener on the other side, stay in your own lawn). The testimony was when I walkedinto the financial aid office jsut to make sure the paper work was in order, even though i KNEW i didnt have it, and the counselor, told me I have enough FINANCIAL AID TO FINISH MY BACHELORS DEGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I was approved for a LITTLE OVER ^16,000 for the next two years. ! 6 years ago i walked away with them tellin me I had NO money left to draw from , and NOW, I have enough to finish my BACHELORS degree in what??
