Testimony from Susan: I first glanced at the devotion book at my boyfriends church First Baptist of Glenarden. I felt like God was leading me to that book and telling me I needed to do the fast. I was at a desperate place in my life and dealing with bouts of depression. I knew I needed to surrender to God. I am a recent college graduate with a BS in Psychology. And I just felt so lost about my life and the next phase after graduation. The things I choose to surrender were selfishness, sweets and the MAIN thing was surrending a negative thinking pattern to having an attitude of gratitude and not feeling depressed, stuck or sad. As a result of the fast God helped me to realize I should go to grad school to be a licensed clinical social worker and that I ultimately want my own non profit facility for at risk young ladies middle school to college level. Immediately after the fast I was offered a job at my school I graduated from. This fast has helped me to become closer to God and trust him more for things to work out in my life.
